It is a great pleasure to introduce our colleague Tanya Luttrell. Part of the Umanico family since 2008, Tanya has worked at all functions of the company: recruitment, coordination, and she is now a partner. Tanya takes charge of her professional development. She is driven, positive and dynamic, and has climbed the corporate ladder two steps at a time. Thanks to her great sense of humour, she can make any stressful situation less so. She is professional, attentive, detail-oriented and there for her colleagues, and is the perfect embodiment of Umanico's motto, "Talent in the right place."

What makes you want to get up in the morning?

I have a number of reasons for getting up in the morning. Aside from the usual things like family, friends, colleagues, joy and well-being... For the past 10 years, and especially the past four, I am happy to get up in the morning because I am driven by a deep desire to bring Umanico to a higher level, with a solid team that, like me, wants to make lasting achievements. In my view, there is so much to do and there is no limit except the one you impose on yourself! I've always got a project in mind or some aspects of work that I want to improve. This is what excites me on a daily basis.

How would you describe your role?

Convey to the team Umanico's mission, vision and values;
Ensure management of the industrial division in keeping with the strategic orientations established by senior management;
Support the team's professional development.

What are your main professional challenges?

As a partner, one of my biggest professional challenges is to keep developing my entrepreneurship. I am surrounded by very capable colleagues, but this aptitude, in my view, must guide and shape my future decisions in order to ensure Umanico's longevity.
Talent recruitment and retention: Umanico wants to attract the most talented people out there and make sure they are in the best possible place. In my sector, I therefore need to make sure I have the right players on board at all times.

What advice would you give new recruits?

Do things for the right reasons. When I started out at MCMR, they told me, "If you always give 100% and do things for the right reasons, the rest will follow." They were right! You have to start at the beginning in order to gain experience; there is no shortcut. And the path taken is as important as the final destination; you must never forget that. Personally, I seized all the opportunities I was given, even if they seemed overwhelming at the time, and those have turned out to be my best decisions.

If you had to choose a mentor, and if that person could be anyone, whom would you choose?

Daniel Boyer, Umanico's president. Daniel has been a guide for a number of years now. He helps me develop a greater awareness of my potential and to act on that to surpass myself. I believe a good mentor does exactly that. I recall when he approached me to discuss a partnership, I was both thrilled and frightened. Would I be good enough? And he told me straight off that he was certain I was up to it and that I was the only one who doubted it. Since that day, we work together and I have learned so much from him, especially about entrepreneurship. I try to learn as much as possible from his experience.

What is your favourite quote?

"Shoot for the moon. Even if you miss, you'll land among the stars." - Oscar Wilde

Tanya, your presence among us is crucial. You are a pillar of strength for our team, whatever direction the company takes. Thanks for being yourself and for working so hard for Umanico's growth and development.
