“It opens doors!”

First I was a teller, then a telephone agent, a receptionist, and today, just 1 year after my initial training, I'm a member service representative. Umanico has helped open several doors at Mouvement Desjardins, consolidate my experience and boost my self-confidence. Today, my goal is to become a trainer. Support is Umanico's biggest asset. We really feel we have the tools to progress as far as we want to within the company.

« Opportunities at Umanico and at Desjardins. »

My time with Umanico was a lovely adventure. The trainers and coordinators alike are attuned to the needs of the candidates, and that makes all the difference. I felt guided and supported. If I had to give people starting out a tip, it would be: Persevere! If at the beginning, your work hours are variable, and you may often be on call, it is an opportunity to meet some interesting people, and that is how you move forward and distinguish yourself.

« Solid training. »

Besides its high placement rate, what distinguishes Umanico from its competitors is the quality of the training it provides. The program is really well thought out, and we feel we have the tools we need to work for the Desjardins caisses. I had been an N2 for only three months, when they proposed I take the training for the N3 because my team saw I was a quick study and that my basics were solid.

“Stimulating challenges!”

As a freshly minted humanities graduate, I discovered Umanico in the winter of 2017. I began by working as a replacement in the Desjardins caisses, thinking of it as a temporary stint until I found stable employment in my field. After spending a few months in this new world of customer service, I decided to continue the adventure with Desjardins. I have left my field aside, but I am very happy to have seized the opportunities which presented themselves. I love what I do and the work is challenging and stimulating.

“A real turning point in my career!”

My career took a turn for the better, and much of that is thanks to Umanico. I love what I do. Even with little in the way of a university education or experience, if you work hard, you can have access to really stimulating jobs. I wanted to make progress within the Desjardins caisses, so I decided to go back to university on a part-time basis while continuing to accumulate experience in credit analysis and placement. In one year, I went fom N4 to N5, and there's nothing to keep me from reaching N6 in the short term. I am very pleased and proud of what I've accomplished.

“Back to school while holding down a full-time job”

I didn't think learning could be so much fun, but Umanico's trainers are great. They are patient, passionate, and answer all your questions. After having worked for the Desjardins caisses for a number of years, I felt like going back to school, while still working full-time. I began a remote course for a certificate in administration through the TELUQ. I want to say that I have more than a job with Desjardins: I have a career. Thanks to my certificate, some truly interesting jobs are now within my reach, jobs that are a perfect fit for me.
